By permanently painting the covers around the iconic Ferry Building in San Francisco, we blended public art with urban design in a way that enhances both the visual and experiential qualities of the space. The addition of colors that evoke a sunrise over the bay ties the artwork into the natural beauty of the area, making viewers feel even more connected to its surroundings.

Raising awareness about the art around you is such an important goal. Often, people pass by these functional elements without a second thought, but when they’re transformed into vibrant works of art, it invites people to pause and appreciate the space in a new way. This type of intervention can sparks conversations about urban design and creativity in public spaces.

Before completing the project, we made a series of relief prints directly from the iron that will become gifts and mementos for the city, its visitors, and employees.
